Workshop Assistant

Having first come through S4E as a participant, Davith brings a unique understanding of the participant journey to his role in the workshop. After completing his Certificate II and Certificate III in Furniture Making, he has turned his skills and experience into meaningful employment with S4E. Working hands-on in the workshop, Davith supports practical projects while helping create an encouraging environment where participants can build confidence, develop new skills, and see what is possible through their own employment journey.

Having originally joined S4E as a participant, Davith has experienced first-hand the process of building confidence, developing workplace skills, and working toward meaningful employment. His progression from participant to staff member reflects the opportunities that can come from persistence, learning, and having the right support in place.

Davith has completed both a Certificate II and Certificate III in Furniture Making, giving him a solid foundation in woodworking, furniture construction, workshop safety, tools, materials, and practical trade skills. He now applies this knowledge in S4E’s workshop, contributing to hands-on projects and supporting the day-to-day operation of the space.

Working alongside participants, Davith helps create a practical and supportive learning environment where people can develop new skills at their own pace. His own experience at S4E allows him to relate to participants in a genuine way, offering encouragement and demonstrating that skills developed through programs and training can lead to real employment opportunities.

Davith’s role also provides participants with a positive example of what progression can look like. Through his work, he helps reinforce the importance of independence, responsibility, teamwork, persistence, and taking pride in practical achievements.

As someone who has grown through S4E and is now contributing back to the organisation, Davith brings a valuable perspective to the workshop team and plays an important role in helping participants build confidence in their own abilities.

Davith’s Vision
To use his skills and personal experience to encourage others to believe in their abilities, develop practical skills, and work toward greater independence and meaningful employment. He hopes his journey can show participants that with the right opportunities, support, and determination, progress can lead to exciting new possibilities.
