Meet David — Footy Fan, Transport Buff & Creative Explorer David is a proud Collingwood supporter with footy knowledge that spans decades — just name a year! He’s passionate about Melbourne’s public transport, especially trains, trams, and buses. As a dedicated spotter, David photographs rare finds like Ventura’s final diesel buses. In Minecraft, he builds Magic Street — a world inspired by real-life urban planning. His music taste blends retro classics with modern artists like Sombr and Maddox Batson. From AFL stats to Minecraft builds, David’s world is full of fun facts and creativity.
Hey there, David here!
I am a Collingwood supporter who loves talking about VFA/VFL/AFL statistics, if you pick a year, I can tell you who won the premiership in that given year and who they beat (e.g. in 1927 Collingwood bet Richmond in the VFL Grand Final by 12 points)
My biggest passion is Public Transport, I go around spotting trains, trams and buses in various locations around Melbourne such as The CBD, Box Hill, Moonee Ponds, South Yarra, Footscray plus more! There are a couple of things I am trying to get photos of such as Ventura’s 35 new Volvo B8RLE Volgren Optimus buses which will be the final diesel buses to be delivered. They have various numbers between 1661 – 1703. I currently have photographed 19 of these buses with the best photo being of bus 1697 at Mitcham, some of the most rewarding shots I would like to get is of bus 1701 and 1702 down on the Mornington Peninsula. I also got photos of 1688, 1689 and 1690 on the same day on May 14! I always look towards the future and in November The Metro Tunnel will finally open! And in 2026 – 2027 we will have a new train type – The X’Trapolis 2.0 and a new tram type – The G Class Tram aka NGT (Next Generation Trams). I also research projects in other cities and Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland all have major projects, all which will be complete by 2029 - 2030!
I also love playing Minecraft! I play in a map called Magic Street which has seen major transformation where the original houses based on an old housing commission estate in Broadmeadows being knocked down and huge luxurious mansions being built in their place over the past few years which is increasing the value of property in the map for all, for me its like playing on a gold mine! I also watched The Minecraft Movie in April 2025 and absolutely loved it! Jack Black’s acting skills was exceptional! In fact, his song in the film Steve’s Lava Chicken was the shortest song to ever top the chart at just 38 seconds long (usually when I play it, I play it twice because it’s so short but so good!)
My music taste goes back to the timeless classics of the 50s, 60s and 70s, but I also follow the latest trends in music, my favourite current artists are sombr, Mason Ramsey, Alex Sampson, Alex Warren, Elliot James Reay and Maddox Batson, most of these artists were introduced to me by my friends, all these artists have their own unique style like Mason Ramsey, Alex Sampson and Elliot James Reay have a modern take on the 1950s, Alex Warren has a modern rock gospel style, Maddox Batson has a classic teen country rock pop style who my friend is a superfan of and sombr also has a rock style but in each of his songs he has one unique memorable line!
I also like watching YouTube and I enjoy watching content by Zachcray, MrBeast, Ryder Tully & The Rock Squad, Trey Makai and Nidal Wonder. All these creators make very fun videos like challenges, pranks and Q&As that are enjoyable to all ages especially tween and teen audiences. I also watch some transport related videos that my friends have made such as channels like Quinn’s Victorian Trains, hazpt media, joshplaysonyt, junkyard kid, Railfan Seth and Anything Vintage. Please feel free to like and subscribe to their channels!
Whether its trains, Minecraft, music, footy or YouTube. David is the one you would want to check out!
